SING 2 – In Theaters December 22

Official Website | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | #Sing2

This holiday season, the new chapter in Illumination’s smash animated franchise arrives with big dreams and spectacular hit songs as the ever-optimistic koala, Buster Moon, and his all-star cast of performers prepare to launch their most dazzling stage extravaganza yet …all in the glittering entertainment capital of the world. There’s just one hitch: They first have to persuade the world’s most reclusive rock star—played by global music icon Bono, in his animated film debut—to join them.

Buster (Oscar® winner Matthew McConaughey) has turned the New Moon Theater into a local hit, but Buster has his eyes on a bigger prize: Debuting a new show at the Crystal Tower Theater in glamorous Redshore City.

But with no connections, Buster and his cast—including harried mother pig Rosita (Oscar® winner Reese Witherspoon), rocker porcupine Ash (Scarlett Johansson), earnest gorilla Johnny (Taron Egerton), shy elephant Meena (Tori Kelly) and, of course, porcine provocateur Gunter (Nick Kroll)—have to sneak their way into the world-famous Crystal Entertainment offices, run by ruthless mogul wolf Jimmy Crystal (Emmy winner Bobby Cannavale).

In a desperate attempt to get Mr. Crystal’s attention, Gunter spontaneously pitches an outrageous idea that Buster quickly runs with, promising that their new show will star lion rock legend Clay Calloway (Bono). Problem is, Buster has never met Clay, an artist who shut himself away from the world more than a decade ago after the loss of his wife. Even worse, Buster has failed to realize that Mr. Crystal is an egocentric gangster who would rather drop somebody off the roof of a building than be lied to.

As Gunter helps Buster dream up an out-of-this-world theatrical masterpiece, and the pressure (and sinister threats) from Mr. Crystal mount, Rosita’s leading role in the show gets ripped away and handed to Mr. Crystal’s spoiled daughter, Porsha, played by Grammy-nominated artist Halsey. Desperate to save the show, and his life, Buster embarks on a quest to find Clay and persuade him to return to the stage.

What begins as a dream of big-time success becomes an emotional reminder of the power of music to heal even the most broken heart.

Sing 2 is written and directed by acclaimed returning filmmaker Garth Jennings and features additional new characters played by music superstar Pharrell Williams, Black Panther’s Letitia Wright and comedians Eric Andre and Chelsea Peretti.

The film is produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and by Janet Healy. Sing 2 combines dozens of classic rock and pop hit songs, electrifying performances, breathtaking artistry and Illumination’s signature humor and heart into the definitive feel-good cinematic event of the year.

An elegant manifesto for improving life―and death―for all beings on sacred Mother Earth
Combining humorous anecdotes and thought-provoking research, Sacred Sendoffs explores human relationships with beloved pets, wild creatures, animal astronauts, marine life, farmed animals, and other sentient beings. Along the way, animal chaplain Sarah Bowen shares insights for sustaining their lives, honoring deaths, and managing the emotions that arise when we lose an animal we love. While many books focus exclusively on pet loss, animal welfare, or environmental issues, Bowen’s ever curious and playful style takes on all three, revealing their unavoidable entanglement. Sacred Sendoffs helps animal lovers uncover practical actions and everyday opportunities for helping the more-than-human world thrive.
Author Bio
Sarah Bowen is an animal chaplain and advocate for all creatures. She offers workshops on interspecies mindfulness practices, works with humans around animal grief/loss, and advocates for exploited and endangered species within both religious and secular contexts. You can often find her huddled over wildlife struck by cars, giving them a sacred sendoff. Bowen is also a cofounder of Compassion Consortium, the first interfaith, interspiritual, and interspecies faith community, an academic dean at One Spirit Interfaith Seminary; a columnist on animal/human relationships for Spirituality & Health magazine; and the author of two award-winning books on modern spirituality, including Spiritual Rebel. Her work has also appeared in Tricycle: The Buddhist Review, Elephant Journal, mindbodygreen, and on a wide range of podcasts. She holds a BA in Human Ecology, MA in Religious Studies, and is joyfully engaged in postgraduate research in Humane Religious Studies and Anthrozoology.

“This book is a gift to all human animals seeking to live more reverently and lovingly within the larger web of life." ― Cody J. Sanders, Chaplain at Harvard University & Advisor in the Office of Religious, Spiritual, & Ethical Life, MIT

“Sarah Bowen is back, and with the characteristic humor and intelligence that marked Spiritual Rebel, she asks us to consider the more-than-human world. Sacred Sendoffs articulates the case for extending to all living beings the compassion, empathy, and reverence that resides at the core of all religions and wisdom traditions. Her approach is not to preach, scold, or admonish, but instead to pose questions that inspire thoughtful and honest answers. I am certain that the reader, and the world, will be in a better place from these inquiries.” ― William Melton, Co-Founder of the Compassion Consortium
Sacred Sendoffs is an uplifting spiritual masterpiece. With blessings on every page, this is one of those books we will all keep close at hand to read again and again.” ― Judy Carman, author of Peace to All Beings and co-chair of the Interfaith Vegan Coalition

AMERICAN BLONDE’s New “Quicksand” Video Uses Natural World To Captivate

Aura Of Urgency & Need Create Tidal Pull On Senses

Nashville, TN (October 21, 2021) – American Blonde’s music video, “Quicksand,” offers fans mesmerizing viewing. While the focus is on the natural beauty of Nata and Tinka Morris – the siblings who are American Blonde – videographer Ryan Slattery (Jackson Gillies, Rachel Ross, DJ Unieq) deftly crafts a magical world using powerful contrasts between dappled sunlight and dark, “evil” woods, open fields and confining trails, and by alternating spatial separation and intimacy between the actors. Nata’s regal and controlled movements play off Tinka’s wilder, hair-swirling, head-banging drumming. Ethereal silk dresses are offset with delicate chains and kick-a** boots. There is smoke but no mirrors, big city band action in a half-mown hay field, a barn with no livestock and two women but no men. It’s a rabbit hole of the best kind . . . a tidal pull on the senses that creates a compelling aura of urgency and need. The video was filmed at The Gathering Place in Lebanon, Tennessee.
The Southern Rock-inspired anthem, written by Nata and frequent collaborator Jimmy Nash ("More Than Crazy" Jane By Design, "We Are Made Of Stars" Teen Mom 2) “Quicksand” was released to Country radio last month. The tune quickly racked up over 200,000 streams and is featured on several Spotify playlists - Fresh Finds: Country, Country Summer Vibes, Today’s Country Hits and more. Produced by Cliff Downs, it is the first single for the duo and is available for purchase everywhere.

ABOUT AMERICAN BLONDE
A powerhouse of talent, principal songwriter/guitarist Nata and drummer Tinka Morris bring to life the energetic and raw sounds of the Delta – and give testament to the land that nurtured them. As youngsters, they were drawn to the extensive live music scene around their Cleveland, Mississippi hometown – the festivals, fairs and fish fries where music was front and center. The sounds of The Eagles, B.B. King, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers, Elvis, Stevie Nicks and more echoed throughout their home. Entertainers since their pre-teen years, the siblings have literally lived their lives in the spotlight - and loved every minute of it. Their determination and talent earned them a slot competing in the 2014 Texaco Country Showdown, which led to the release of their first EP (produced by Alabama’s Jeff Cook). Two well-received CDs, released in 2015 and 2018 (produced by hit songwriters Gerald O’ Brien and Catt Gravitt), followed. They landed three Top 25 hits on the MusicRow Chart with “Anything Is Possible,” “I Think Too Much” and “Don’t Let Another Day Go By.” They’ve toured throughout the U.S. and the U.K., sharing the stage with diverse acts, including Maren Morris, Old Dominion, Brantley Gilbert, Easton Corbin, B.B. King, and others. Their high-energy stage shows have earned them spots at CMA Fest, Bluebird Café, The GRAMMY Museum® Mississippi, and The GRAMMY Museum® Los Angeles, among other high-profile venues. The Morris sisters call Nashville home.
