Live Free or Die Hard

20th Century Fox presents an R rated action adventure thrill ride film with a running time of 130 minutes directed by Len Wiseman and starring Bruce Willis (John McClane), Timothy Olyphant (Thomas Gabriel), Justin Long (Matt Farrell), Maggie Q (Mai Lihn), Cliff Curtis (Bowman), Jonathan Sadowski (Trey), Andrew Friedman (Casper), Kevin Smith (Warlock), Yorgo Constantine (Russo), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Lucy McClane), Sung Kang (Raj) and Zeljko Ivanek (Molina).

Does Bruce Willis still have it as an action star?  Based on this film that would be a yes!  This movie is sure to be the summer action blockbuster by far.  When cyber security gets breached otherwise known as hacked, officials in Washington DC go looking for the source.  These days who seems to know everything about computers?  Well that would be our youth.  When the location of the hacker is traced to Matt Farrell they send John  McClane out to arrest him and bring him into the authorities.  At the time all John is doing is spying on his daughter and her so called boyfriend at Rutgers.  By the way the leaf doesn't fall far from the tree.  His daughter Lucy, quite a looker by the way is one tough cookie sure to take the best of hits like her Dad.

Little does McClane know that when he arrives at Farrell's apartment not only is he a witty character but also a target for an explosive virus upload.  This leads into some great action stunts and phenomenal shoot outs with a "Bond" like sequence sure to even rattle that of the "Terminator".  Farrell is the target of the terrorists out to hack into the main computers of our government which of course are our arteries to the pulse of our human survival these days.  Homeland Security gets involved along with every known source of authority when traffic control, social security administration, Wall Street are all under attack.  Unauthorized broadcasts have taken over the media in what leads America to believe a three step attack is under way otherwise known as a fire sale.  Disable our traffic, compromise our computer systems and destroy our utilities.

McClane who is now the front runner out to uncover the terrorists led by Thomas Gabriel must not only protect his sidekick and main hacker Matt Farrell but deal with every violent force of attack possible by land and air.  This film contains some explosive high octane special effects, a bit over the top at times but sure to keep you glued to the screen but don't miss the writing since some of the character lines are brilliant.  Willis is fast and furious, Long is clever and the perfect computer geek to play along Willis, Olyphant is dark and mysterious, along with a kick ass cast of supporting actors and enough breath-taking CGI effects to make you scream in your seats this film is worth every minute in the theatre.

What if help will never come?  In this case if it doesn't it could possibly mean the end to our American way of life all for that of the bottom line.  When things get personal between McClane and Gabriel, loyalty is out the door but blood is truly thicker than water and the game is on to a climatic finish sure to have you screaming, Yippie Ky Yay.
